That kind of love

She sleeps next to me,
not a comma but a semi colon;

she is an abrupt pause
in the bed,
leading me to stop
when I wake,
to regard her
for long moments,
lost,
lingering in the warm scent of her,
before I can begin again.

About Catastrophe Jones

Wretched word-goblin with enough interests that they're not particularly awesome at any of them. Terrible self-esteem and yet prone to hilarious bouts of hubris. Full of the worst flavors of self-awareness. Owns far too many craft supplies. Will sing to you at the slightest provocation.

    I still owe you some DeathWatch reading, Jones, and I will get there, but in the meantime, I will take this.

  2. Thanks much — hope you’re liking my weird attempts at love poetry — hey, how far did you get in?

  3. Adan Ramie says:

    Evocative. Makes me want to head back to bed and drag my wife with me!
