You Were The Best

I want to remember
the before time,
when I had wings,

when I flew,
when I was higher
than the clouds.
When I was
the color of space,
and the stars were my eyes.

I want to remember
when I created fire,
and when I breathed light.
I want to remember
before you,

before you rose higher
than any other,
and then fell.
You were the best
at everything —

you were even the best
at ruining everything.

About Catastrophe Jones

Wretched word-goblin with enough interests that they're not particularly awesome at any of them. Terrible self-esteem and yet prone to hilarious bouts of hubris. Full of the worst flavors of self-awareness. Owns far too many craft supplies. Will sing to you at the slightest provocation.
