Down the front stoop
blush and get back up
Down the stairs
grimace and get back up
Up the stairs
sneer and get back up
Out of the chair
sigh and get back up
Off the bar
laugh and get back up
Off the kerb
curse and get back up
Out of the car
wince and get back up
Into the garden
vomit and get back up
Down nine stories
Into the gutter
sob and get back up
Into his arms
stay there.
How many times has she fallen?

I mean that just sounds awful and somehow makes sense anyway. I just want to save a soul like this, but in truth, I probably need just as much saving.
There’s no saving a soul like this. Needs doing to try, though.
It always does.
Can’t tell if it would be more satisfying to redeem her, or shatter her beyond all hope.
