Unaware

I didn’t know how to love you
when it was time for me
to have learned it.
I didn’t know how to be myself
for you, and I didn’t know
how to be anything
but what I had thought
you implied I should be.
I didn’t know, and I suppose
I can blame myself for this,
but
I don’t know how to do that, either.

About Catastrophe Jones

Wretched word-goblin with enough interests that they're not particularly awesome at any of them. Terrible self-esteem and yet prone to hilarious bouts of hubris. Full of the worst flavors of self-awareness. Owns far too many craft supplies. Will sing to you at the slightest provocation.
