To Begin Again

It is hard to start over,
hard to begin again,
when the lines you think
you might color outside
turn out to be not lines,
not grooves, but chasms.

Inside and outside,
they are the borders
that keep you where you are

unless you are willing
to lose yourself inside them

before you come out
the other side.

The only way
I have ever been able to
was to know I had
someone waiting for me
on the other side.

A new start,
without anything
I have ever known.
Could I ever find the strength
to make that leap
without you?

More importantly,
must I?

About Catastrophe Jones

Wretched word-goblin with enough interests that they're not particularly awesome at any of them. Terrible self-esteem and yet prone to hilarious bouts of hubris. Full of the worst flavors of self-awareness. Owns far too many craft supplies. Will sing to you at the slightest provocation.
