His and Mine

I laid him to the table,
my precious prince,
and I kissed his copper eyes,
and I let him
sleep his final sleep,
and I have not breathed
a single moment since
without feeling the loss of him,
heavy and deep.

He was mine in a way
no one else ever was.

I was his in a way
I will never be, again.

One day, I will dream my way
into wherever he has gone.

About Catastrophe Jones

Wretched word-goblin with enough interests that they're not particularly awesome at any of them. Terrible self-esteem and yet prone to hilarious bouts of hubris. Full of the worst flavors of self-awareness. Owns far too many craft supplies. Will sing to you at the slightest provocation.
