Like You Once Did

Love me
like you once did,
when I was the only word
on your lips,
the only prayer
on your tongue.
Love me
like you once did,
when I was the only star
you wished on,
the only dream
in your mind’s eye.
Love me
like you once did,
when I was the only fire
in your soul,
the only dream
in your heart.
Love me
like you once did,
before you turned your back,
before it all turned black,
before it wasn’t just this
wretched aftermath.

About Catastrophe Jones

Wretched word-goblin with enough interests that they're not particularly awesome at any of them. Terrible self-esteem and yet prone to hilarious bouts of hubris. Full of the worst flavors of self-awareness. Owns far too many craft supplies. Will sing to you at the slightest provocation.
